RecruitScreen
The flag we plant

Your candidates trust you with their faces. Keep that trust onshore.

A video interview is about as personal as personal information gets — a candidate's face, voice, name and work history in one file. Every major video screening platform is American or British, and that data routinely lands in US or EU data centres. RecruitScreen is the Australian alternative: owned here, hosted in Sydney, built around the Privacy Act.

What the Privacy Act expects of you

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), recruiters and employers handling candidate personal information are accountable for it. APP 8 adds a specific burden when personal information is disclosed overseas: you generally remain responsible for what the overseas recipient does with it. Using an offshore screening platform doesn't outsource that responsibility — it multiplies it. The simplest way to answer "where does candidate data go?" is to never send it offshore in the first place.

What onshore means at RecruitScreen

Candidate recordings, transcripts and personal details are stored in Sydney and stay there. Recordings auto-delete within 12 months of a campaign closing — sooner if a candidate withdraws. Accounts support two-factor authentication and role-based review access. And because your clients increasingly ask their own vendors the data-residency question, "stored in Sydney, auto-deleted, Australian-owned" is an answer that wins you business, not just an IT checkbox.

Local isn't just the data centre

Pricing in AUD, GST included, on an Australian ABN — no surprise conversion fees or foreign transaction charges on the company card. Support in Australian hours from people who know what a labour-hire agency's Tuesday looks like. Product decisions made for AU hiring: forklift tickets, night-shift availability, WWCC checks — not retrofitted from a Silicon Valley enterprise roadmap.

Data residency questions, answered

Where exactly is candidate data stored? +

In Sydney, Australia. Video recordings, transcripts and candidate personal information are stored onshore and are not replicated overseas.

Does data residency actually matter legally? +

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and APP 8 make you accountable for personal information you disclose overseas. Keeping candidate data onshore removes that cross-border compliance question entirely.

How long is candidate data kept? +

Recordings are automatically deleted within 12 months of a campaign closing — sooner if an application is withdrawn or archived. You control retention within your workspace.

Is RecruitScreen Australian-owned? +

Yes. RecruitScreen is built and operated by Indxtree Pty Ltd (ABN 22 699 760 113), an Australian company, and priced in AUD inclusive of GST.
